Citroen Racing confirmed the three major upgrades that were fitted to the C3 Rally2 on the last two WRC rounds including an engine improvement.
More specifically, the French team brought three upgrades to the C3 Rally2 in Croatia and Portugal and these changes were only available for Nikolay Gryazin and Yohan Rossel while the customers will receive these improvements in the coming weeks. Following multiple test sessions on asphalt and gravel, three evolutions kits were approved which were related to the roof-mounted air intake, the air box and the the engine environment. First of all, the upgraded roof-mounted air intake with improved aerodynamic flow over the top of the car will deliver an increase in out-and-out performance combined with the new air box with improved air intake helping to increase horsepower. The last change is on the engine area with the heat exchanger, the air inlets and the supercharging circuit all fine-tuned to boost power and improve engine responsiveness. These three developments have been proved crucial for the C3 as Citroen Racing secured a 1-2 in Croatia with Gryazin and Rossel while the first one was the top RC2 driver in Portugal but the win went to Jan Solans as the Russian competed as a non-nominated driver on the fifth WRC round.
