At the end of the Shakedown session, Ott Tanak sets an early pace in Latvia with Thierry Neuville and Takamoto Katsuta following him.
Ott Tanak was the fastest driver at the Shakedown session with a time of 1:33.6 and aims to take a good result in Latvia as he is very familiar with the fast gravel roads.
Thierry Neuville does the 1-2 for Hyundai Motorsport and follows his teammate for 0,3 seconds while he did a mistake on his first pass from SD as he hooked his i20N into a ditch 1.2 Km, but he managed to complete the stage.
Takamoto Katsuta is the top Toyota driver, as he completes the top three, and lost the second place for only one tenth of a second.
Martins Sesks continues to impress with his performance as he set the fourth-fastest time at the Shakedown session driving the hybrid Puma for the first time.
Elfyn Evans follows the young Latvian driver for two tenths of a second and left his teammates behind in sixth and in seventh place.
Sebastien Ogier and Kalle Rovanpera set an identical time in Shakedown, but the Frenchman was faster for some thousandths of a second, thus he is sixth overall while Rovanpera is in seventh place.
Esapekka Lappi returns back to the wheel of the i20N since March, but he managed to set the eighth-fastest time in SD of Rally Latvia. In addition to that, he is among the drivers who have experience from this rally, but he competed there when it was a winter rally.
Gregoire Munster is ninth overall after his having achieved a personal best WRC result with M-Sport Ford in Poland three weeks ago.
Adrien Fourmaux is outside the top ten and his target is to finish at the podium positions for a fourth time this season.
