The organizers of Rally Japan announced the route of their event which will be held on November 21-24.
More specifically, the recce will last three days starting on Monday 18 November and ending on Wednesday 20 November. The Shakedown session will take place at Kuragaike Park on Thursday 21 November for one more year and will be crucial for the drivers to make their final adjustments to the set-up of their cars. An autograph session will be held at Fan Zone while Toyota Stadium will host the ceremonial start and the first superspecial stage on Thursday.
The real rally action starts on Friday with four repeated stages. The opening stage of the day is the famous and the most dramatic "Isegami’s Tunnel" and afterwards the crews will head to a new stage which is called "Inabu/Shitara". "Shinshiro" remains at the route as the third stage of the morning and the afternoon, but it has been renewed. The day concludes with two passes from the superspecial stage "Okazaki".
The penultimate day of Rally Japan includes seven stages. The drivers and the co-drivers have to make pacenotes for the new stage "Mt. Kasagi" which will run first on the order in the morning and in the afternoon. "Nenoue Kougen" is the following stage after ""Mt. Kasagi" and stays at the route for a second consecutive year. The first pass from "Ena" will conclude the Saturday morning compared to the evening where the crews will have to run throughout the superspecial stage "Toyota Stadium" after the second pass from "Ena" to end their day.
Sunday contains five stages in total. The crews will begin their day from "Nukata" which has a great forest scenery and will be followed by "Lake Mikawako". The first pass from "Lake Mikawako" is very important for the crews to make some final changes to their pacenotes for the Powerstage. Afterwards, they will return back to "Nukata" for its second pass before heading to Toyota Stadium for the superspecial stage. After the end of the penultimate stage of Rally Japan, the drivers and the co-drivers will compete in "Lake Mikawako" for a second time as this stage will define which crew and team will score the five extra points from PS and the seven points from SuperSunday. The three winning crews will receive their trophies after the end of the Powerstage at Shimoyama Health Center while the ceremonial finish will take place at Toyota Stadium.
Totally, this year's Rally Japan includes 21 stages, but the distance has not been confirmed by the organizers yet.
