Ogier has no other option rather than doing a full campaign for the rest of 2024

Sebastien Ogier is thinking of competing in all rounds for the remaining of the season as the things stand after the end of Rally Finland, but he feels that he has no other option.

The Frenchman was third overall and was fighting for the first place of Rally Finland with Kalle Rovanpera and Elfyn Evans until the time that the last one suffered from transmission issues in Stage 12, so Ogier climbed to the second position. Rovanpera had built a comfortable lead at the end of Saturday and managed to increase further his gap today by setting the fastest time on the first two stages of Sunday. However, the young Finn clipped a rock and rolled his Yaris in Stage 19 which means that he was forced to retire. As a consequence of that, Ogier was the new rally leader at the end of SS19 and claimed an unexpected win this weekend while he took the 18 points from Saturday classification since Rovanpera did not complete the rally. Apart from Ott Tanak's retirement on Friday, another one title contender was out of Rally Finland as Evans went off the road in Stage 19 which means that both of them scored zero points for their championship fight. Furthermore, Ogier scored six points today (one point from PS and five points from SuperSunday) and 21 points in total in Finland which means that he overtook Tanak and Evans on the championship standings and is now second, 28 points behind first Thierry Neuville.

"I have to see if we do a full campaign but it looks like I have no other option", Ogier answered when he was asked if he will take part in the remaining rounds of this season.

"It is not my priority anymore but we'll see".
