Rally Finland - 1st Day: 1-3 for Hyundai as Neuville beats Katsuta in Harju

At the end of the first day, Thierry Neuville is the early leader of Rally Finland with Takamoto Katsuta and Ott Tanak following him.

Thierry Neuville was the fastest driver in Stage 1 and is the early rally leader in Finland despite the difficulties he faced with the set-up of his i20N at the Shakedown session earlier today.

Takamoto Katsuta was beaten by Neuville for 1,1 seconds and is the top Toyota driver as he sits in second place.

Ott Tanak does the 1-3 for Hyundai Motorsport and is one of the favorite drivers to win Rally Finland this weekend as he has claimed three victories of this event so far in his career.

Sebastien Ogier comes right behind the Estonian for one tenth of a second while his result in Finland will define his programme with Toyota for the rest of this season as he is fourth on the championship and is able to fight for his ninth title in WRC.

Kalle Rovanpera competes the top five and is only two tenths of a second behind Ogier.

Adrien Fourmaux is in sixth position overall and has left Esapekka Lappi behind for one tenth of a second.

The Finn driver of Hyundai had a small moment in Stage 1 as he hit some tires with the rear right of his i20N on a corner.

Elfyn Evans stands in eighth place overall and hopes to get a good result this weekend as he feels confident with his Yaris.

Sami Pajari and Gregoire Munster are ninth and tenth respectively.
