Rally Finland - 3rd Day - 2nd Loop: Evans gets time penalty as Lappi stops Rovanpera's domination in stages

At the end of Saturday afternoon, Kalle Rovanpera reels in winning his home event for the first time in his career with Sebastien Ogier and Thierry Neuville following him.

Kalle Rovanpera is still the top driver of the overall classification and holds a comfortable lead over his teammate. The Finn set the fastest time in Stage 14 and 16 extending his margin to 44,2 seconds.

Sebastien Ogier remains second overall and had a moment in Stage 15 resulting in losing some seconds compared to the third Thierry Neuville, but he managed to bounce back in Stage 16 and their gap is now at 39,6 seconds.

Adrien Fourmaux is still behind one place far from the podium positions and felt more comfortable with his Puma after the midday service.

Sami Pajari completes the top five and eventually Toyota did not give him team orders to slow down as Elfyn Evans received time penalty and dropped even more behind on the classification.

Oliver Solberg, Jari-Matti Latvala, Lauri Joona, Nikolay Gryazin and Mikko Heikkila complete the top ten.

Elfyn Evans dropped from eighth to outside the top ten since the beginning of the second Saturday loop as he left with a 16minute delay from the service park, thus he received 160 seconds time penalty. However, he managed to get some places back in Stage 16 and to finish his day in 12th position.

Takamoto Katsuta and Esapekka Lappi are still outside the top ten with EP being the fastest driver in Stage 15 and putting a stop to Rovanpera's stage wins today. Moreover, the Finn driver of Hyundai stopped in Stage 16 as he suffered from a front right slow puncture which happened in a fast section on fifth gear.
