According to RallyJournal sources, Martins Sesks may drive the Ford Puma Rally1 later in 2024 making his third outing of the season at the top level.
The young Latvian driver made his debut in World Rally Championship with M-Sport Ford at Rally Poland two months ago where his performance was impressive considering the fact that he drove the non-hybrid Puma and completed Friday morning at second place overall after his having set the second-fastest time in one stage on the first loop of Friday. Rally Latvia was his next event on his campaign, but this time he had the chance to get behind the wheel of the hybrid Puma. He was fighting for the top three places in Latvia against three WRC Champions (Sebastien Ogier, Kalle Rovanpera, Ott Tanak) until the Powerstage where he dropped from third to seventh due to the fact that his car suffered from transmission issues. Since Adrien Fourmaux may join Hyundai Motorsport next year and Sesks knew these two events very well as Rally Poland and Rally Latvia were rounds of European Rally Championship, M-Sport Ford may give to him another chance to prove his potential and it is rumored that he may participate in Chile next month with the third Puma. Last but not least, it must be mentioned that the rallying community believes that Sesks deserves a Rally1 seat in 2025 considering his achievements on the last couple of months and how quickly he was adapted to the best machineries in the world.
