Sesks to compete with the non-hybrid Puma in Chile

M-Sport Ford announced today that Martins Sesks will drive the third Puma at Rally Chile next month following his impressive performances on the first two fast gravel rallies of the season.

The Latvian driver had the support of WRC Promoter and managed to secure two outings with M-Sport Ford earlier this year. He made his WRC debut at Rally Poland with the non-hybrid Puma and was impressive as he competed Friday morning in second place, was the second-fastest driver in one stage of that loop and claimed multiple top-five times throughout the event. He had the chance to get behind the wheel of the hybrid Puma on his home event and was fighting for the top positions against the three WRC Champions (Ott Tanak, Sebastien Ogier and Kalle Rovanpera), but eventually he dropped from third to seventh in Powerstage due to transmission issues. Our sources suggested that Sesks would make his third outing of the season at Rally Chile next month and the Malcolm Wilson's team confirmed it today, but the youngster will drive the non-hybrid Puma on the eleventh WRC round. Last but not least, it must be mentioned that Adrien Fourmaux may join Hyundai Motorsport in 2025, thus M-Sport Ford is examining its options ahead of the new season and Sesks is a good option for them considering his achievements in Poland and in Latvia.

"We are very grateful for the opportunity to drive a Rally1 car again, just two months after our previous rally", Sesks said.

"It’s been an incredible adventure so far, and the experience of driving keeps getting better.

"Competing in Chile in a Rally1 car is truly amazing, so I'd like to give a big thank you to M-Sport and the WRC Promoter for their support and cooperation.

"Of course, it will be quite a challenge, especially starting with a non-hybrid Rally1 car in a rally like this, on slower gravel and at high altitude, which is tough on both the car and the driver.

"It will be demanding, but we love challenges.

"Once again, we’ll be the underdogs, driving a rally we don’t know with a non-hybrid car.

"But I believe we are ready, and everyone is motivated to give our best performance, taking on another great adventure this year with M-Sport.

"We’re looking forward to it".
