Silly Season: Fourmaux is linked to Hyundai for the third i20N seat in 2025

After the end of Rally Finland, a paddock rumour relates Adrien Fourmaux to joining Hyundai Motorsport next year as the third driver of the team.

The team principal and CEO of Hyundai Motorsport, Cyril Abiteboul, stated at the end of Rally Latvia that he is responsible for a number of results including his choice to put Esapekka Lappi behind the wheel of the third i20N in Latvia as EP's last outing was Safari Rally Kenya last March. In addition to that, Abiteboul stated that his team is considering of changing the third-car policy and of having three full-time drivers for 2025. Dani Sordo and Esapekka Lappi do not have a full-season programme whereas Andreas Mikkelsen still has the desire to drive in all WRC rounds and to become a WRC Champion, but the Norwegian has not shown his potential yet as it is his first ever campaign with a Rally1 car. On the other hand, Adrien Fourmaux promoted as the #1 driver of M-Sport Ford for this year after Ott Tanak's departure at the end of 2023 and has finished at the lowest place of the podium four times in his WRC career while his maiden podium at the top class came in Sweden last February. Finally, it must be mentioned that the Malcolm Wilson's team is a semi-manufacturer team and does not have enough budget to develop further the Puma Rally1 during a season compared to Hyundai Motorsport which is a factory team.
