Acropolis Rally - 1st Day - 2nd Loop: Tanak tops the 1-2-3 for Hyundai as Ogier faces turbo issues

At the end of Friday afternoon, Ott Tanak is the new leader of Acropolis Rally with Dani Sordo and Thierry Neuville following him.

Ott Tanak climbed into the lead of Acropolis Rally at the end of Stage 5 by setting the fastest time there despite the fact that he was struggling with the balance of his i20N in Stage 4.

Dani Sordo is in second place overall and 21,8 seconds behind his teammate while he said at the end of Stage 4 that he was running without hybrid power.

Thierry Neuville does the 1-2-3 for Hyundai Motorsport and mentioned understeer in Stage 5 while he suffered from brake issues on the final stage of the day. However, he was the fastest driver in Stage 6.

Sebastien Ogier lost 16,7 seconds in Stage 5 and dropped from first to second as his Yaris was hit by mechanical issues. However, he managed to continue and to complete the afternoon loop of Friday, but he is now fourth and lost more than two minutes in Stage 6 as the turbocharger was broken. He faced the same issues as Evans had on Friday morning. Moreover, it must be mentioned that he extended further his lead at the end of SS4 as he was the fastest driver there.

Gregoire Munster is behind Robert Virves and Sami Pajari at sixth place as he stopped to change a wheel in Stage 6.

Elfyn Evans remains outside the top ten and his target is to take some positions back on Saturday.

Adrien Fourmaux completed his morning in second position overall and was chasing his maiden victory in World Rally Championship, but his hopes ended in Stage 4 as he was forced to retire with a broken steering arm after hitting a rock.
