Adrien Fourmaux says that he has a frustrating start in Greece considering his misfortune on the opening Friday afternoon stage, but he did not give up and his focus was to get maximum points on Sunday.
The Frenchman completed Friday morning at the second place despite the fact that his Puma suffered from a hybrid issue, but he was forced to retire in Stage 4 when he hit a rock resulting in breaking the rear left suspension of his car. His mechanics managed to repair his Puma for Saturday and restarted under the SuperRally regulations, but he faced an issue with the anti-roll bar in Stage 9. Since there was no midday service on Saturday, Fourmaux carried this problem on the following three stages until the end of that day while he suffered from a rear left slow puncture in Stage 11 resulting in losing more time. His final day was almost perfect as he scored 11 from 12 points on Sunday as he claimed his second Powerstage win of the season and finished second on the SuperSunday standings. At the end of the tenth WRC round, Fourmaux remains fifth in the championship with 130 points and is just ten points behind Elfyn Evans.
"It was a frustrating start to the rally, after we were fighting for the top spots in the morning, but then we broke the suspension after hitting a rock", Fourmaux said.
"We were then focused totally on Super Sunday to get the maximum points.
"We got 11 out of 12 available points, including the 5 for the Power Stage.
"We showed some good pace overall, and there has been an incredible atmosphere with all the fans and the really beautiful stages.
"It was a tough and hot event, and now we have Chile coming up and we want to come back stronger for that".
