The stewards of Acropolis Rally fined Gregoire Munster and M-Sport Ford for breaching the hybrid regulations of FIA at Acropolis Rally on Friday.
More specifically, on Friday 06th September 2024 at 15.20 hrs, on the road section after SS4, car No. 13 moved for about 200 meters without the High-Voltage vehicle status light on (green light). The data showed that a BMS and BMSL reset had initiated on the car while the car was still moving. According to FIA's regulations, each car moving with EV mode on a road section must have turn its green light on for safety reasons. Mr. Bouffanais stated that, as mentioned in the HY documentations (point 8.4 of the software user manual), the reset of BMLS has to be performed only in standstill. He also added that the FIA had already asked M-SPORT FORD WORLD RALLY TEAM not to use the automatic reset of BMS and BMLS from their Software, following a remark sent by the FIA Technical Delegate regarding similar issues during a previous WRC event. The software settings are under the responsibility of each competitor, and therefore M-SPORT FORD WORLD RALLY TEAM should avoid any other accidental breach of the above-mentioned regulations in the future. As consequense of that, the stewards decided to give a fine of 5.000 euros to Munster and to M-Sport Ford for this infringment. This fine is applied with suspension of sentence subject to no further breach by Competitor M-SPORT FORD WORLD RALLY TEAM of the above-mentioned article and HY documentations and user guide infringements committed within the framework of a competition of the FIA World Rally Championship during the year 2024.
