Ogier will preserve his initial engagement with Toyota

Sebastien Ogier says that he will follow Toyota's plan on his competition on the final three rallies of the season and promises that he will keep giving his best despite his mistake in Greece.

The Frenchman is among the title contenders for this year after the end of Rally Finland, but he lost more ground over the championship leader Thierry Neuville at the end of Acropolis Rally. Ogier's initial agreement with Toyota was to have a partial campaign in 2024, but the things changed during this season. Both parties confirmed that Ogier will drive the third Yaris on the final four WRC rounds, but the last one was fighting for the top positions of Acropolis Rally despite the fact that he was driving slowly on Friday afternoon due to turbo issues. He finished third on Saturday classification and started his Sunday in a positive way by setting the fastest time on the first two stages of the day. However, he suffered from a puncture in Powerstage resulting in rolling his Yaris, but he did not give up as he managed to complete the stage and to secure the 13 points from his third place on Saturday. He was the top driver on SuperSunday standings until the start of Powerstage, but he collected zero points on the final day of Acropolis Rally. After the end of the tenth WRC round, he slipped behind the second Ott Tanak for four points on the championship and is 38 points behind the leader Thierry Neuville.

"It’s a satisfaction for me to still be able to compete at this level", Ogier said.

"Of course, I enjoy that and I enjoy pushing the limit.

"It’s been fun in the car this weekend.

"Again, the weekend could have been so much better, but I know it very well now after all those years in the championship that sometimes it goes like this, sometimes it doesn’t go your way.

"I will still be there in the next three events.

"I’ve taken this engagement for the team, so for sure I will be present and continue to give my best".
