Rally Chile - 2nd Day - 2nd Loop: Weather conditions favored Rovanpera as Evans drops to 2nd

 


At the end of Saturday afternoon, Kalle Rovanpera grabs the rally lead from Elfyn Evans with Ott Tanak still being in third place.

Kalle Rovanpera stole the lead from his teammate Evans at the end of Stage 11 with their gap being at 5,5 seconds after SS11, but the Finn is 15,1 seconds ahead of the last one before the start of the final day of the rally.

Elfyn Evans dropped from first to second at the end of Stage 11 as the fog worsened during his pass compared to his rivals considering the fact that the Welshman was the last Rally1 car on the order. However, he managed to extend his advantage over his teammate in Stage 10 by setting the fastest time there.

Ott Tanak completes the top three, but his thid place is under threat by his teammate with their gap being at 10,1 seconds at the end of Saturday.

Thierry Neuville remains fourth overall and was able to decrease his gap from the third Tanak by setting the fastest time in SS11.

Adrien Fourmaux completes the top five and overtook his teammate Gregoire Munster at the end of Stage 10 as their gap was at 3,8 seconds. Furthermore, he was the fastest driver in Stage 12.

Sami Pajari follows the Frenchman on the classification for 26,5 seconds and lost many seconds as he was very cautious in Stage 10 and 11.

Gregoire Munster lost one place and slipped behind Pajari to seventh place, but he is able to chase him tomorrow as their margin is at 1,1 seconds. Moreover, he was struglling with the balance of his Puma.

Esapekka Lappi is still eighth overall and lost his motivation when he received a two-minute time penalty for being two minutes earlier at TC11 control.

Martins Sesks remains outside the top ten as he was cleaning the roads and restarted under the SuperRally regulations today.
