Pajari takes the responsibility for his CER crash

Sami Pajari says that it was his mistake that he rolled his car in Stage 15 of Central European Rally and hopes he will learn from that for the future while he admits that he had done a clean rally before his retirement.

The Finn driver did his third outing of the season with Toyota at the top level last week and it was his first time getting behind the wheel of the GR Yaris Rally1 on tarmac. He was in sixth position overall for the most part of the rally while he faced some hybrid issues with his car in Stage 3 resulting in dropping time compared to his rivals. However, he went wide on a left hander in Stage 15 and made him to roll his Yaris just 5.1Km into SS15, thus he was unable to continue and to complete Central European Rally. Pajari is one of the WRC2 title contenders this year and will compete with the GR Yaris Rally2 at Rally Japan next month while he is set to join Toyota's main team in 2025 and to have Sebastien Ogier, Kalle Rovanpera, Takamoto Katsuta and Elfyn Evans as his teammates.

"In the first stage on Sunday, I went a bit wide on one corner and we were maybe a bit unlucky to roll so easily, but it was my mistake", Pajari said.

"It’s a pity and I’m sorry for the team.

"I just need to learn from this, understand what happened and be better in the future.

"Up to then, the rally had been really nice for us, every day was really clean, and there was clear development through the weekend.

"I got quite a nice feeling with the car and did some decent stage times, and most importantly we learned a lot.

"These three rallies in the Rally1 car have been really amazing, a dream come true for me and I’ve enjoyed it a lot.

"Now I look forward to doing my best at Rally Japan in WRC2".
