Rossel fined for unsafe driving in the traffic

The stewards gave to Yohan Rossel a fine as he drove unsafely on the roads of Czech Republic yesterday night after their having examined a video footage.

Rossel overtook a convoy of vehicles while crossing the double white line and crossed a junction ignoring red traffic lights, thus creating an unsafe situation in the city of Klatovy yesterday night. The Stewards showed the video footage of the traffic violation by the crew of car No. 21. The team representative Ms. Coralie Barbassat stated that until that moment they were unaware of that incident and added that that kind of behavior by their crew on a public road cannot be tolerated under any circumstance. The respect of traffic rules is imperative for the FIA, also to protect the public image of rallying. The Stewards concluded that the driver of car No. 21 was in breach of Art. 34.3.1 of the 2024 FIA WRC Sporting Regulations, which explicitly mandates that crews must observe the national traffic laws, and imposed a fine of 2.000 euros to Rossel for his actions.
