Sesks does not know his WRC future, but is ready to grab every opportunity

Martins Sesks has zero idea of which are his next plans for World Rally Championship, but he is ready to take every opportunity he will be given for more outings at the top level.

The Latvian driver made his WRC debut at Rally Poland with the non-hybrid Puma and managed to set the second-fastest time on Friday morning resulting in finishing at the second place after the end of this loop behind the rally leader Andreas Mikkelsen. However, M-Sport Ford and WRC Promoter gave to him the chance to get behind the wheel of the hybrid Puma Rally1 in Latvia where he was fighting for the top positions against the three WRC Champions (Kalle Rovanpera, Ott Tanak and Sebastien Ogier), but eventually he dropped from third to seventh in Powerstage when his car suffered from transmission issues just 600 meters into the stage. The Malcolm Wilson's team confirmed that Sesks would do another outing with the non-hybrid Puma at Rally Chile in order to test him as he did not know the stages of this event. Sesks was forced to retire with a double puncture at the end of Friday morning as he did not have any spare wheel to return back to the service park, but he faced a new challenge on Saturday as he was opening the roads for the upcoming cars. However, he remained outside the top ten at Rally Chile as his gap was very big compared to the WRC2 runners while he had a small spin in Stage 13 on Sunday. Last but not least, it must be mentioned that it is very likely for Adrien Fourmaux to join Hyundai Motorsport next year which means that M-Sport Ford has to fill the gap after the Frenchman's departure and Sesks is a good option for them considering his achievements earlier this season.

“I have zero idea actually", Sesks said.

"We have done this rally and I don’t know what is going to happen next.

"We are ready to take every opportunity.

"It depends how, when and what we can do in the future".
