Croatia will return to WRC in 2026 with a three-year deal

The organizers of Croatia Rally announced today that they signed a new three-year contract with FIA and WRC Promoter which means that their event has secured its slot to the 2026 WRC calendar.

Croatia Rally joined World Rally Championship back in 2021 and since then was a WRC round, but Rally Islas Canarias will take its place at the WRC calendar of 2025. This means that Croatia Rally will host a round for the European Rally Championship next year, but it will make its comeback in 2026 as the organizers, the FIA and the WRC Promoter signed a new three-year contract earlier today. Furthermore, it must be mentioned that only Toyota drivers have won Croatia Rally with Sebastien Ogier having the most victories as he has been victorious twice on these tarmac stages. Last but not least, this WRC round has offered the closest finishes in World Rally Championship history and its stages are very different to each other as well as the grip.

"When Croatia Rally joined the WRC in 2021, we knew it would become an instant classic, and it hasn’t disappointed in each of the last four editions", the WRC event director, Simon Larkin, said.

"We are delighted to continue this adventure for the next three years across both our championships.

"It will definitely add a new sporting challenge to the ERC, and we think it will appeal to not just our regular ERC competitors, but likely some WRC teams as well.

"We’d like to thank the Croatian Government at all levels – led by Sports Minister Tonči Glavina – as well as Daniel Šaškin, the President of the Organising Committee, for their unwavering support of this project".
