Adrien Fourmaux says that he is more interested in Hyundai's offer ahead of 2025 rather than Toyota's one, but does not rule out the possibility of staying at M-Sport Ford next year.
The Frenchman returned back to the Puma Rally1 after one-year absence from the top level of World Rally Championship and has impressed everyone with his speed, his consistency and his results. He has finished four times at the lowest place of the podium so far while he has claimed his first Powerstage win and his maiden podium in World Rally Championship earlier in 2024. Hyundai and Toyota have expressed their interest to sign Fourmaux for 2025, but it is rumored that the last one will join Thierry Neuville and Ott Tanak next season. On the other hand, M-Sport Ford wants to retain Fourmaux at its squad, but the Puma is less competitive than the i20N and the Yaris and the team faces financial issues. So far, we only know that Tanak and Neuville will continue with Hyundai in 2025 while it is expected that Kalle Rovanpera will return with a full-time programme back to the wheel of the Yaris which means that everything is still open on WRC market.
"I make my decision with my head more than my heart, because my aim is to be world champion and I want to find a good way to go there", Fourmaux said.
"What M-Sport is doing with the money they have got is incredible, it’s brilliant – but will it be enough?
"That’s the question.
"It doesn’t mean that I am leaving, but Hyundai is offering me a full season, which is interesting.
"Toyota is offering a half season, which I am not interested in.
"But for sure, at M-Sport I know everybody, and it feels like a home.
"They said they want to keep me, but I am still waiting for it, so it’s quite annoying".
