M-Sport Ford is not stressed on Fourmaux's potential departure

The team principal of M-Sport Ford, Richard Millener, says that the goal is the team to remain the same, but they are not worried for the future if Adrien Fourmaux decides to join another team in 2025.

WRC YouTube channel posted an episode in which Fourmaux reveals that he is in talks with all the WRC teams ahead of the season and is more interested in Hyundai's offer than Toyota's one for 2025. According to some rumors, it is speculated that Fourmaux has already signed a full-time contract with the Alzenau-based team and will join forces with Thierry Neuville and Ott Tanak next year in order to compete against Toyota. The championship of 2024 will complete at Rally Japan next week and it is very likely to have an announcement from Hyundai after the end of the season finale. On the other hand, M-Sport Ford is examining its options and does not want to lose Gregoire Munster if Fourmaux will drive the i20N in 2025 while Martins Sesks must find sponsors in order to secure a seat with the Puma next season.

"The episode shows Adrien has a lot of opportunities and offers on the table", Millener said.

"It doesn't say what the decisions are, so the goal is to remain as we are and be as competitive as possible.

"At the same time, we have to be realistic about what we can achieve with the budgets we have.

"Sometimes that means you have to let somebody go, and I'm not just talking about the possibility of Adrien here.

"When we lost Sébastien Ogier at the end of 2018, when we lost Ott Tänak, and when we lost Elfyn Evans, they were all difficult times.

"But you have to just not get too downbeat, upset, or worried about what you have to do at that point.

"The key is: how do we move forward? What do we do next?

"All those people I just listed, many of them came through M-Sport to begin with.

"So it's about finding the next ones.

"That often means M-Sport doesn't necessarily always have drivers in the team who are ready to win the championship.

"When they get to the point where they are able to win, we always struggle against the bigger teams with the bigger budgets.

"But it does mean that we can find the next group of people to come through".
