Rally Japan - 2nd Day - 2nd Loop: Tanak seizes rally lead as Neuville drops outside the top 10



At the end of Friday evening, Ott Tanak becomes the new rally leader in Japan with Elfyn Evans and Adrien Fourmaux following him.

Ott Tanak took back the lead of Rally Japan from Elfyn Evans as he was the fastest driver in four stages today.

Elfyn Evans slipped behind Tanak at the end of Stage 5 and managed to be the fastest driver in Stage 7 cutting Tanak's advantage by 0,4 seconds.

Adrien Fourmaux completes the top three and stole Takamoto Katsuta's third place at the end of Stage 7.

0,1 seconds separate the fourth Takamoto Katsuta from Fourmaux while their gap was at 0,8 seconds after SS7 in favor of the M-Sport Ford driver.

Sebastien Ogier is in fifth place overall and managed to gain four positions on the second loop of Friday. 

Gregoire Munster is sixth overall, but his gap from Ogier is at 19,9 seconds.

Thierry Neuville dropped from third to outside the top ten at the end of Friday evening as he carried the power issues on this loop since Stage 4.

Andreas Mikkelsen had an off 12Km into Stage 5, but he was able to complete the stage and to lose more than seven minutes. He retired his car on the road section after the end of SS5 while Hyundai condirmed his entry for Saturday.
