Rally Japan - 3rd Day - 2nd Loop: Tanak extends his gap, Neuville reels in his maiden title

At the end of Saturday, Ott Tanak is still leading Rally Japan with Elfyn Evans and Sebastien Ogier following him.

Ott Tanak managed to increase further his rally lead over Elfyn Evans as their gap is now at seconds while the first one was the fastest driver in SS13 and SS16.

Elfyn Evans remains in second place overall and is the top Toyota driver while he mentioned understeer with his Yaris in Stage 13.

Sebastien Ogier does the 2-3 for Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT and set identical time with Thierry Neuville in Stage 14 while he climbed to the third place at the end of SS13 and left Adrien Fourmaux behind for 1,6 seconds.

Adrien Fourmaux dropped out of the podium positions at the end of Stage 13 as he was not able to defend his place over Ogier.

Takamoto Katsuta completes the top five and was very close in stealing the fourth place from Fourmaux in Stage 14 as their gap was only at two tenths of a second.

Gregoire Munster holds his sixth position and the WRC2 drivers are behind him while his gap from the frontrunners is big.

Thierry Neuville claimed another two places and is now seventh overall while he was beaten by Ogier for 0,1 seconds for the SS15 stage win while both of them set the fastest time in SS14.

Hyundai Motorsport decided to withdar Andreas Mikkelsen's car for Saturday afternoon considering the fact that he did not have so much to offer on the manufacturer championship. However, he will restart under the SuperRally regulations on Sunday.
