WRC set not to have a qualifying stage in 2025

The FIA's road sport director, Andrew Wheatley, says that there will not be a qualifying stage in 2025, but FIA may introduce something different in terms of road positions.
It is not secret that many drivers are complaining about opening the roads, especially those who fight for the championship. Sebastien Ogier, Thierry Neuville and Kalle Rovanpera are the distinguish examples of this situation as they had to open the roads on Fridays and dropped many seconds on the gravel rallies. Although, there was a speculation about FIA introducing a qualifying stage as it is happening at European Rally Championship, Andrew Wheatley clarifies that FIA is not thinking of this and may introduce something different ahead of 2025. The next World Motor Council will be held on December 11 and we may have more news about that plus some potential changes ahead of the new season.
"There is big discussion about the whole process of the weekend from the first flag to the end", Wheatley said.

"There are discussions going on about what we can do.
"I don’t believe there will be a dramatic difference, we won’t go to a full qualifying activity or something radically different but there is work around the edges to see if we can make it slightly different".
