Gregoire Munster feels that he managed to have a better second half in 2024 compared to his performance on the first half of the season considering his lack of experience and his fighting against the best drivers in the world.
On the first half of the season, Munster had only two finishes inside the top ten, two restarts under the SuperRally regulations and one accident with his best result being the fifth place in Sardinia last June. On the other hand, he finished five times inside the top ten since Rally Poland with having two more finishes at the top five on the final WRC rounds of the championship whereas he restarted only once under the SuperRally regulations and only one crash. Hyundai and Toyota have already finalized their drivers for 2025 while M-Sport Ford may continue with Munster for one more season as 2024 was his first full campaign at the top level of the World Rally Championship.
"I think at the end of the season, we were much better than in the first part of the season", Munster said.
"But like you say, we’re also here in Rally1.
"We need to deliver.
"We need to show.
"We are young and fighting against much more experienced drivers and sometimes you do a bit too much, do some mistakes and the problem is you carry that bad momentum forward and you try to get out of it, but then you’re not feeling perfectly relieved when you’re driving and so on.
"So it’s not easy but I think we managed to turn things around at the end of the season".
