Sami Pajari has confirmed that Marko Salminen will replace Enni Malkonen in 2025 and they will start competing together in Monza this week.
The young Finn driver announced just after the end of Rally Japan that Enni Malkonen will stop reading the pacenotes for him next year despite the fact that they became the WRC2 Champions for the 2024 season. Pajari was confirmed to race with the fourth Yaris at the top level by Toyota and it will be his first full season in World Rally Championship, but nobody expected that he would part ways with Malkonen. However, he decided to have Marko Salminen alongside him for next year who has been his co-driver in the past while the last one was the navigator of Teemu Suninen. Last but not least, Salminen competed with Yuki Yamamoto in WRC2 class this year who is member of Toyota's new programme.
"The contract is a dream come true for me and I’m really grateful to TOYOTA GAZOO Racing and the team for giving me this amazing opportunity", Pajari said.
"There have also been many important people who have been helping me and making this possible.
"Thank you!
"I also know that this is where the hard work really starts to learn and to push for good results in the future.
"I'm glad to announce that I have Marko Salminen supporting me as my co-driver.
"You'll see us competing in the Monza Rally Show this week.
"It will be fun".
