Adrien Fourmaux keeps the positive thing from Rally Sweden which was his speed, but says that he will remain down-to-earth as there are 12 rounds remaining.
The Frenchman was among the drivers who were fighting for the victory of Rally Sweden until Stage 11 where he had to stop in order to fasten his helmet resulting in dropping from third to sixth and losing almost 21 seconds. In Stage 12, he made another mistake as he lost the rear of his i20N and hit a snowbank which made him to retire for the rest of Saturday. He and Alex Coria restarted under the SuperRally regulations on Sunday and managed to score only one point as they were the fifth-fastest crew in Powerstage. At the end of Rally Sweden, Fourmaux dropped from third to seventh on the championship and has 21 points which means that he is behind the first Elfyn Evans for 40 points.
"We have been competitive all weekend so I would say the positive thing is we have the pace, but we need to avoid the mistakes and go from there", Fourmaux said.
"I am happy we could score at least one point in the Power Stage; it’s the bare minimum but it’s something so we didn’t come back with nothing.
"We are focused on the future – there are still 12 events and a lot to be done, so I will keep my head on my shoulders.
"Yesterday’s mistake will not happen again. Kenya is next and anything can happen, so I will be working a lot with the team to make it successful".
