Rally Sweden - 2nd Day - 2nd Loop: Evans heads a five-car battle overnight



At the end of Friday, Elfyn Evans retakes the lead of Rally Sweden with  following him.

Elfyn Evans took back the lead of Rally Sweden by Tanak at the end of Stage 8 as their gap was at 1,3 seconds at the end of Stage 7. The Welshman also was leading Rally Sweden at the end of SS6 and set the fastest time in Stage 8.

Six tenths of a second separate the second Takamoto Katsuta from his teammate who stole the lead from the last at the end of SS5 as he set the fastest time there. In fact, he gained three places in Stage 5, but he dropped a position when he had a stall in Stage 6.

Ott Tanak was first overall at the end of Stage as he set the fastest time in Stage 6 and was ahead of Katsuta for 0,4 seconds.

Adrien Fourmaux had an overshoot 18.9Km into Stage 5 and stalled his car resulting in dropping to fourth place overall. In fact, he was behind his teammate Tanak for 0,2 seconds at the end of SS5.

Thierry Neuville remains fifth overall, but he is closer and is among the contenders for the win of Rally Sweden. He was the fastest driver in Stage 7

Kalle Rovanpera slipped behind Neuville at the end of Stage 5 as the Finn had to reverse in one junction resulting in losing time.

Martins Sesks stole the seventh place from his teammate Josh McErlean at the end of Stage 5 and was the third-fastest driver in Stage 6.

Sami Pajari and Gregoire Munster complete the top ten.
