At the end of Rally Sweden, Elfyn Evans is the winner of this year's Rally Sweden with Takamoto Katsuta and Thierry Neuville following him.
Elfyn Evans claims his first win of the season with Toyota and managed to take back his lead from Takamoto Katsuta at the end of SS17 by setting the fastest time there. Moreover, he took the five bonus points in Powerstage and beat Katsuta for 0,1 seconds as well as the five bonus points from SuperSunday.
Katsuta stole the lead from his teammate at the end of Stage 16, as he was the fastest driver there, with their gap being at 4,5 seconds before the start of SS17. Furthermore, the Japanese start lost time in Stage 17 when he hit a snowbank with the front of his Yaris.
Thierry Neuville finishes at the lowest place of the podium and was able to defend his third place from Ott Tanak. The 2024 WRC Champion made a small mistake in Stage 17 as he hit a snowbank.
Kalle Rovanpera completes the top five and took valuable points for the championship considering the fact that he could not find pace with his Yaris in some stages.
Martins Sesks remains in sixth position overall and had a handbrake issue since the morning.
Sami Pajari was not able to match the pace of Sesks and sits in seventh position overall.
Gregoire Munster moved up to eighth taking advantage over his teammate's mistake in Stage 16.
Josh McErlean dropped from eighth to outside the top ten as he ran wide 14.9Km into Stage 16 and beached his Puma into the snow. However, he managed to continue, but he completed the stage after 48 minutes.
Adrien Fourmaux restarted today under the SuperRally regulations and was cruising throughout the first two stages of Sunday in order to save his tyres for the Powerstage.
