Sesks builds his confidence after Sweden ahead of Portugal

Martins Sesks says that he is being happy with the performance and the consistency he showed at Rally Sweden, especially with the times he set in some stages.

The Latvian driver finished in sixth position overall and managed to keep Sami Pajari behind on the classification. In total, he made three mistakes in Sweden while he suffered from handbrake issues in Stage 16. However, he was able to set some good times in some stages despite the fact that he had never competed at Rally Sweden before. He was the leading M-Sport Ford driver, but also the leading driver from the youngsters. It must be mentioned that he has secured a six-rally campaign with M-Sport Ford for this year and his next outing will be Rally de Portugal next May.

"I’m quite happy about our performance and our consistency", Sesks said.

"With our ‘safe speed’, we managed to get through the rally and collected some decent times as well.

"Especially on the second passes, where we were a bit more used to the road conditions, we were able to get some top-three times which was the big positive of the weekend.

"On some other stages, we posted some competitive split times, so I think the good thing is that we can see we have the speed here and we can drive really fast in some circumstances".
