Safari Rally - 1st Day: Tanak takes an early lead, Fourmaux retires



At the end of Thursday, Ott Tanak leads Safari Rally with Takamoto Katsuta and Gregoire Munster following him.

Ott Tanak is the leader of Safari Rally at the end of the opening day as he set the fastest time in Stage 2.

Takamoto Katsuta is in second place overall and was up on the splits in SS2, but he had a small off and lost some seconds.

Gregoire Munster split the party for Toyota, as he completes the top three, and managed to leave behind Kalle Rovanpera for 0,4 seconds.

Elfyn Evans was the fastest driver in Stage 1, which means that he dropped four positions at the end of SS2, and is fifth overall.

Josh McErlean is in sixth place overall and kept Sami Pajari behind for one second.

Thierry Neuville had a two-wheel moment and was slow on the last sector of Stage 2 resulting in losing 16,7 seconds there and being at the eighth position.

Adrien Fourmaux was not able to pass throughout Stage 2 as his i20N was not starting before the start of SS2 and he had to reture due to electrical issues.
