Safari Rally - 3rd Day - 1st Loop: Evans extends his lead on a full punctured morning



At the end of Saturday morning, Elfyn Evans is still leading Safari Rally Kenya with Kalle Rovanpera and Ott Tanak following him.

Elfyn Evans remains the leader of Safari Rally Kenya and extended further his advantage by setting the fastest time on the first two stages of Saturday.

Kalle Rovanpera lost ground on chasing his teammate as he suffered from front right puncture in Stage 12. Furthermore, another puncture hit him in Stage 13 resulting in losing more time.

Ott Tanak completes the top three and is still ahead of his teammateThierry Neuville despite his rear puncture in Stage 11.

Takamoto Katsuta overtook Neuville on the classification at the end of Stage 11 and is now in fourth position overall while the front right tyre was off the rim in Stage 11. Finally, it must be mentioned that he was the fastest driver in SS13.

Thierry Neuville dropped to fifth overall as he stopped 20 Km into SS11 due to a front left puncture.

Sami Pajari holds the sixth position on the overall classification and only he and Evans stayed out of trouble this morning.

Gregoire Munster is ninth overall and dropped time on the first two stages. In fact, he had a small stop 7Km and a rear right off the rim in Stage 11 while he stopped to change a wheel in Stage 12.

Josh McErlean is outside the top ten as he lost many minutes in Stage 11 due to a broken steering arm. Moreover, he had a spin in Stage 13.

Adrien Fourmaux did not restart under the SuperRally regulations today as Hyundai wanted to save his car for Sunday.
