WRC gets new fuel supplier after P1's administration

FIA has appointed a new single supplier of sustainable fuel to the FIA World Rally Championship from Round 4, Rally Islas Canarias (24-27 April), until the end of the 2025 season.

This announcement comes following confirmation that previous supplier, P1 Performance Fuels GmbH, has entered administration and can no longer fulfil its contractual obligations to supply the championship.

The FIA has worked quickly to reach the agreement with the new supplier – TotalEnergies – ensuring that there will be a stable supply for the remainder of the season that maintains the championship’s low-carbon competition targets. TotalEnergies is present in the wider motor sport ecosystem, notably providing sustainable fuel for the FIA World Endurance Championship and FIA European Truck Racing Championship.

For the Safari Rally Kenya (20-23 March), the sustainable fuel was already in transit prior to the announcement regarding P1 Performance Fuels GmbH, and the FIA has worked with logistics entities to ensure that this fuel will be delivered and distributed for use during the event.

TotalEnergies will begin supplying sustainable fuel to the FIA priority drivers on Rally Islas Canarias before rolling out the distribution to all crews at subsequent events until the end of the season.

The tender for the single supply of sustainable fuel to the FIA World Rally Championship for 2026-2028 has recently closed and the FIA is assessing the submissions received. An announcement will be made regarding this in due course.
